Who runs this site

Water Softener Connect is owned and operated by Connect Network, based in the Phoenix area. You can reach us at hello@watersoftenerconnect.com.

We're a matching service, not a contractor. We don't perform water treatment work, sell equipment or employ technicians. The companies that receive your request are independent businesses, and each one gives you its own quote and warranty.

Research Methods & Contractor Standards

Two sets of rules shape this site: how we choose which companies receive homeowner requests, and how we research the numbers in our guides.

Contractor standards

Before a company can receive homeowner requests, we ask for the following, and we only send requests to companies that provide it:

  • An active Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC) license number for the type of work, which we look up on the ROC website
  • Proof of general liability insurance
  • The ZIP codes and job types the company actually serves
  • Agreement to contact homeowners promptly and give written quotes

If homeowners report problems such as no-shows or misleading quotes, we can stop sending requests to that company. We don't publish reviews or ratings of companies, and we don't rank companies against each other.

Research methods

  • Cost ranges come from published sources such as national cost guides, Arizona contractors' own price pages and city or utility reports. Each guide lists its sources and the date we checked them.
  • Local rules (for example city water, sewer or permit rules) come from official city, town or utility pages whenever we can find them. Where we can't, we say so.
  • We label prices as typical ranges, not quotes. The company you hire sets the actual price.
  • We review our guides regularly and update them when sources change. If you spot an error, email hello@watersoftenerconnect.com and we'll correct it.

How we make money

Homeowners never pay us. Your request may be shared with up to 5 participating companies, and each participating company that receives it pays us a fee. That fee doesn't change what you pay, and you never have to hire anyone. See our Privacy Policy for how your information is shared.

Corrections & updates

We log real content changes here so you can see what changed and when. Each entry summarizes an update recorded in our site changelog.

  • Oct 27, 2026: Added Surprise, Goodyear and Buckeye using each city's 2025 water quality reports (and Liberty Utilities' and EPCOR's 2025 reports where they serve parts of those cities). Buckeye's 2025 reports list no hardness number, and we say so instead of estimating one.
  • Oct 27, 2026: Queen Creek page rewritten. The town's 2025 report describes recovered surface water plus groundwater from 29 wells, so we dropped the "well water only" framing and now explain that the provider depends on your address.
  • Oct 27, 2026: Removed hardness numbers from city page titles. City figures stay in the page body with their utility, report year and units.
  • Oct 26, 2026: Re-opened every hardness report in our Phoenix water hardness guide and added the report year, sample year and a last-checked date to each row.
  • Oct 2026: Corrected how we quote the City of Phoenix: its FAQ says home *filters* are typically not necessary unless a doctor advises one; it doesn't say that about softeners.
  • Oct 2026: Relabeled Gilbert's hardness as 2019 figures, since the town's 2023 report lists no hardness, and labeled third-party hardness listings (Glendale, Peoria) as such.
  • Oct 2026: Relabeled our cost guide's sample budgets as our own sums of published ranges, not real quotes.

Frequently asked questions

Is Water Softener Connect a contractor?

No. We're a free matching service. We connect homeowners with independent, licensed local companies, and those companies do the work, set the price and provide any warranty. You deal with them directly once you're matched, and you're never obligated to hire anyone.

Do companies pay to be on Water Softener Connect?

Yes. Each participating company that receives a homeowner request pays us a fee. A request goes to no more than 5 companies. That's how the service stays free for homeowners. We only send requests to companies that give us an active Arizona ROC license number and proof of liability insurance.
